What to expect

DeLana's is a warm, down-to-earth salon on Main Street. On your first visit, your stylist will take a few minutes to talk through your hair's history, your routine at home, and the result you're hoping for — before any cutting or color begins. No pressure, no jargon, just an honest conversation and skilled work.

When a consultation is required

For many cuts and simpler services, you can book straight in. A short consultation is recommended — and sometimes required — before bigger color and specialty services such as blonding, balayage, dimensional color, and major changes. It lets us assess your hair in person, set realistic expectations, and give you an accurate quote and plan. If you're coming from box color or a previous color you'd like corrected, please ask us for a consultation first.

Pricing expectations

Our menu works from a starting price because every head of hair is different. Your final price depends on length, thickness, condition, previous color, technique, and any add-ons, and we always confirm it with you before we begin. See the Pricing Guide for how it works, or call us for a quote.

How to prepare

• Save a few inspiration photos of the result you want.
• Know your hair's history — box color, previous lightening, keratin, or perms.
• For most color services, day-old hair is fine; for cuts and styling, clean and dry is best.
• Skip heavy oils or product right before a color service.
• Note any allergies, sensitivities, or scalp conditions to mention to your stylist.

What to bring

• Inspiration photos and, if it helps, a photo of your hair's current state.
• Any hair products you currently use and have questions about.
• Your preferred payment method (see below).

When to arrive

Please arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and start on time. If you're running late, call ahead at (910) 754-7234 and we'll do our best — see our policies for how late arrivals are handled.

Parking

We're at 4758 Main Street in Shallotte. For the easiest place to park near the salon, please call us and we'll point you in the right direction.

Late arrivals & cancellations

Life happens — just give us as much notice as you can if plans change so we can offer your time to another guest. The current notice windows and any deposit details are on our policies page.

Children & guests

We're family-friendly and happy to have you. Please supervise any children who aren't receiving a service, and let us know in advance if you'll bring extra guests so we can plan seating.

Payment methods

Please ask when you book so we can confirm what we accept for your visit.

Owner to confirm: accepted payment methods (cash, card types, digital wallets) and whether tips can be added to card.

Rebooking

Love your results? The easiest way to keep them looking fresh is to rebook before you leave. Your stylist can suggest the right interval for your service, whether that's a trim, a root touch-up, or a gloss refresh.

Aftercare

Your stylist will share simple tips to protect your cut or color at home — the right products, how often to wash, and how to keep your color true for longer. Ask us anything; good aftercare is part of the service.
